I am one of four hundred artists who has painted a Wind Nomad, organised by SLEM and inspired by the theme grass between the boards

The Wind Nomads swarmed out over the vast mudflats of Terschelling as part of Oerel Festival in Holland in June 2009.

Now following this success they have left by boat for New York where they will be shown as part of the New Island Festival in New York from September 10th - 20th.

My touring exhibition is called Domestic Animals. It is a collection of drawings, paintings and artists' books about home, belonging and loss.

With financial assistance from the Arts Council of England I was able to explore these themes with various groups of people including settled, predominantly white communities, Gypsies and failed asylum seekers.

Domestic Animals has just been showing at The Octagon Visual Arts Centre in Thornbury. Here are some of the comments made about the work.

Really very lovely and well thought out. Beautiful in fact

Enchanting and edgy

Beautiful paintings with a touch of darkness

Terrific, dark and beautiful

Every time I see your paintings I have to tear my eyes away from one to look at the next. They are spellbinding and transporting.

Up comes the stuff of dreams...

I felt, with all your work around me, that I had walked into a place between reality and imagination, fables and dreams. There was though an element of certainty: that feeling of waking up with the emerging answer to a difficult problem in your head, that was unanswered the night before.

I found Daily Bread incredibly moving. My father has dementia and his body is outliving his brain. The story and illustrations perfectly reflect all the frustrations and emotions that come with old age and living too long. Thank you.

Domestic Animals will be touring to a number of venues in the UK. If you wish to be on my mailing list please go via the contact on the home page and I will update you about current showings of my work.
